Cycling & Mountain Bike Riding

Whatever type of cycling you are looking for Beechworth is the place to find it. Australia's Premier Rail Trail, the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail arrives right in the middle of town. The Trail stretches over 100 kilometers through North East Victoria and reaching popular tourist destinations including Beechworth, Wangratta, Rutherglen, Bright and Myrtleford.

If Mountain Biking is your go then the Beechworth Mountain Bike Park, which on its own is considered one of the best places to mountain bike ride in Australia is easily accessible. The Beechworth Mountain Bike Park is only 2km from the centre of town.

Gold Panning, Prospecting & Fossicking

In Victoria, a prospector or fossicker requires a Miner's Right which is a permit to prospect for minerals on unreserved Crown Land or private land where the permission of the landowner has been granted.

Beechworth Golf Club

Beechworth Golf Club is an 18-hole sand greens course located in the tranquil surrounds of Baarmutha Park on the edge of Beechworth, located on Balaclava Road Beechworth.

The Beechworth Bowls Club has a front grass green and Flood-Lighted Synthetic back green for all year play. The club also hosts both primary and secondary school students throughout the year, as well as many community based events.

Swimming Pool

Beechworth Swimming Pool

Located close to the town centre. The town swimming pool provide residents of all ages the opportunity to enjoy social contact, participate in recreational activities such as swimming, water sports and exercise while at the same time being instrumental in the promotion and education of water safety.

Swimming Season

The swimming pool season runs from mid November until mid March, with extended hours during the hottest period from mid December until the end of January. Early morning swimming is also available.

Bush Walking

The tranquil beauty of eucalyptus and native cypress forests, winding creeks, steep gullies and rugged granite outcrops provide an exciting opportunity to explore natural and historical attractions close to the town.
