Golden Horseshoes Festival - Easter Long Weekend
The Golden Horseshoes Festival recreates the occasion where a horse shod with golden shoes was ridden into town by political aspirant Daniel Cameron on the nomination day of Victoria' first parliamentary elections. His famous 1855 ride through the streets of Beechworth proved a crowd pleaser; he was duly elected to parliament.
Good Friday 29 March – Easter Sunday 31 March 2013
This year’s event was proudly co-sponsored by Beechworth Bakery and Beechworth Honey which saw more than 20,000 attend the festival over the 3 days.
