The Shed is a modern eco holiday cottage located in a tranquil bush setting less than 10 minutes drive from the centre of Beechworth. Completed in February 2009, it has a practical, light filled, open plan layout, and has been developed to a high quality standard with assistance from a local interior designer. It has a 7 star house energy rating and is not connected to any town services. It is entirely self sufficient for electricity (240v AC from solar power), water (rainwater pumped from tanks) and heating (wood heater and solar air heater). LPG is used for cooking and hot water.
The property has two bedrooms (one queen bed and two single beds). Facilities include high quality linen and towels, a DVD player, stereo, TV, BBQ, laundry trough, outdoor covered dining area and a car port.
The 18 acre property, registered with Land For Wildlife, has abundant native flora and fauna. Extensive planting of native grasses around the house site was undertaken in 2008.
